Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. in the United States is seeking an IEP Specialist to work with the Director and resource team to coordinate and evaluate the educational program, mentor classroom staff, and oversee onboarding of new staff.

You will collaborate with school teams and families to develop and implement instructional plans, conduct IEP meetings, and ensure ISBE compliance while using SESI’s proven instructional models.

Qualifications

• Current SPED Teaching license is required.
• Experience with similar student populations in a school setting preferred.
• Experience coaching staff and professional groups.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to record and analyze data using Excel and Google Drive.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, manage, assess needs and assign students to special education programs.
• Assist Principal with recruiting, interviewing and onboarding campus staff.
• Develop and implement transition planning and Indicator 13 services.
• Maintain IEP databases and student file scans.
• Prepare and attend IEP meetings; ensure ISBE compliance for IEPs.
• Plan and deliver staff and parent education related to special education programs.
• Collaborate with school districts, parents, and community.
• Provide and monitor crisis intervention at the school.
• Organize training for professional development and staff meetings.
• Participate in Education Committee meetings and relay information to the resource team.
