Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is seeking an IDD Nurse (RN) to provide holistic nursing care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential and community settings. The role reports to Regional Nursing Director and involves clinical supervision, training, and on-call nursing support.

Minimum qualifications include a current RN license and CPR certification; BSN is preferred. The role offers an annual salary of $75,000 with a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Current registered nurse license with no restrictions to practice nursing.
• BSN preferred, but not required.
• CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Observe, assess, and evaluate the health needs of the people we support.
• Coordinate preventative and routine medical care for people supported.
• Document nursing care provided.
• Provide clinical supervision for licensed practical nurses and med techs as deemed necessary.
• Assist with educational and training programs for new employees.
• Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Assist physicians with on-site medical clinics where applicable.
• Provide health related training to unlicensed personnel.
• Teach medication administration training to unlicensed personnel when state law allows.
• Conduct medication pass observations in the home to ensure staff competency.
• Complete skill competency checklists on delegated healthcare tasks.
• Teach the people we serve to monitor their health.
• Provide medication administration training to people who are able to self-administer medications.
• Audits medication administration
• Conduct medication closest assessments.
• Perform quality assurance checks and observations to ensure unlicensed personnel are performing health related tasks as assigned.
• Conduct routine nursing assessments.
• Observe and report any abnormal health related findings to the physician.
• Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team
• Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health for the people supported.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide nursing support and address needs outside of regular scheduled hours.

Education

Registered Nurse (RN) license
