Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring an IDD Nurse RN to provide oversight and general nursing care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across residential homes, vocational centers, and schools. The role reports to the Regional Nursing Director and involves a broad range of nursing duties, training, and on-call coverage.

Minimum qualifications include an accredited RN program graduate, RN license, CPR certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited registered nurse program.
• BSN preferred, but not required.
• Current RN license with no restrictions.
• CPR certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the Interdisciplinary Team and families.
• Must be able to work independently, be organized, and prioritize tasks.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Observe, assess, and evaluate health needs of the people supported.
• Coordinate preventive and routine medical care for people supported.
• Document nursing care provided.
• Provide clinical supervision or oversight for LPNs and med techs as needed.
• Assist with education and training for new employees.
• Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Assist physicians with on-site medical clinics where applicable.
• Provide health-related training to unlicensed personnel.
• Teach medication administration where state law allows.
• Conduct medication pass observations and ensure staff competency.
• Complete skill competency checklists on delegated tasks.
• Teach people we serve to monitor their health.
• Provide medication administration training to those who can self-administer.
• Audit medication administration and conduct closest assessments.
• Perform quality assurance checks and observations for unlicensed personnel.
