Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC in the United States seeks an IDD Habilitation Specialist to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and related mental health or substance use challenges. You will conduct quality assurance assessments, develop personal outcome programs, train staff on behavioral objectives, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team.

A high school diploma is required; a four-year degree is preferred, with at least one year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a human services field.
  • Minimum one year of experience with persons with IDD.
  • Valid driver's license and automotive insurance.
  • Ability to read and interpret professional journals, procedures and regulations.
  • Strong written communication skills for reports and business correspondence.
  • Background check and drug screen required.
  • CPR/First aid or related certification is a plus.

We are seeking a positive and personable professional to make a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and related mental health or substance use challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality assurance assessments for mealtime, active treatment, and formal programs focused on adaptive behavior.
  • Evaluate each client’s current level of adaptive behavior upon admission and update annually.
  • Develop and implement personal outcome programs based on priority objectives identified by the interdisciplinary team.
  • Specify behavioral objectives, training methods, reinforcers, criteria, data‑collection methods, and task analysis for each program.
  • Write and implement programs within required timelines.
  • Observe and provide feedback to home‑care staff as they implement personal outcome program procedures, offering encouragement and suggestions.
  • Review and document formal programs on 30‑day cycles, modify as appropriate, and conduct in‑service training.
  • Conduct Personal Outcome Interviews with staff to identify outcomes and supports.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required; four‑year degree in a human service field preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Services, Special Education, Psychology, or a related Human Services degree.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and automotive insurance.
  • Ability to read and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Strong written communication skills for reports and business correspondence.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
  • CPR, first aid, NCI, and/or role‑specific certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift 20lbs; lift a minimum of 40lbs; pull at least 25lbs.
  • Be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stop.
  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Regularly stand and walk.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting.
  • Maintain adequate vision (close, distance, peripheral) and hearing.
Compensation & Benefits

Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour.
