Job summary

Gold Star Foods in Idaho seeks a Director of Operations to lead the Idaho distribution facility, overseeing warehouse, transportation, inventory and facility operations. You will drive productivity, service levels, and financial performance while aligning with corporate objectives.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration and at least 5 years of management experience, with preferred knowledge of transportation routing and DOT/OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Schedule labor to support purchasing and sales with efficiency.
• Manage facility profit and loss and attainment of budgets.
• Establish metrics and standards to evaluate efficiency and identify improvements.
• Forecast operating budget using historical data and benchmarks.
• Identify strategic needs and execute implementation plans.
• Oversee disaster planning, work stoppages and risk management.
• Control expenses and shrinkage and investigate discrepancies.
• Improve customer service through policy and procedural changes.
• Ensure a clean, safe and orderly work environment.
• Develop safety incentive programs and manage safety training.
• Supervise management direct reports and develop staff.
• Promote training and advancement of support staff.
• Foster open communication and employee involvement in decisions.
