Job summary

Gold Star Foods in Idaho is seeking a reliable forklift operator to move, stack, and count merchandise in our food warehouse.

You will perform pre- and post-inspections, maintain a clean workspace, follow safety protocols, and communicate with supervisors to coordinate tasks. The ideal candidate has forklift experience, attention to detail, and basic computer skills for inventory reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or similar environment, preferably in the food industry.
• Experience operating forklift.
• Must be able to safely lift and move heavy objects and operate equipment in tight spaces.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting and recording inventory.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials.
• Perform routine pre- and post-inspections on forklift equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including forklifts and warehouse spaces.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing PPE and observing traffic rules within the warehouse.
• Assist in inventory control by accurately counting and recording merchandise as it is moved.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and maintain workflow.
• Report any forklift malfunctions or safety concerns to management immediately.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including food safety and hygiene.
• Participate in training programs and meetings to enhance job knowledge and skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned by warehouse management.
