Job summary

Gold Star Foods, the leading food distributor to K-12 schools in the United States, seeks a Director of Operations in Idaho to provide strategic leadership for the Idaho distribution facility. Oversee warehouse, transportation, inventory, and facility operations to improve productivity, service levels, and financial performance.

The role reports to the Corporate VP of Supply Chain, requires a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of management experience, and includes travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
• 5+ years of related management experience.
• Experience with transportation routing and vehicle tracking programs preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, state and federal transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

• Schedule labor to support purchasing and sales departments.
• Manage facility profit and loss statements and budget attainment.
• Establish metrics and standards to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness.
• Forecast and prepare the operating budget using historical data and industry benchmarks.
• Identify short- to long-term strategic needs and implement plans.
• Oversee safety programs, risk management, and work environment quality.
• Supervise management direct reports and develop staff.
• Promote training and development of support staff.
• Lead round-table discussions to educate and involve employees in decisions.
