Job summary

Animal Emergency & Specialty Center in Chattanooga seeks an ICU Veterinary Assistant to join the overnight team. This full-time role offers hands-on critical care experience on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM in a 24‑hour emergency and specialty hospital.

Responsibilities include assisting ICU Technicians, safely restraining patients, monitoring comfort and status, documenting in the hospital software, and keeping the ICU clean and stocked.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management.
• Willingness to learn and grow in veterinary medicine.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist ICU Technicians with the care of hospitalized patients.
• Safely restrain patients for treatments and procedures.
• Monitor patient comfort, cleanliness, and overall well-being.
• Fill non-controlled medication prescriptions as directed.
• Document patient status and client communications using hospital software.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stocking throughout the ICU.
• Work independently and collaboratively to support high-quality patient care.
