Job summary

Animalerspecialty in Knoxville, TN is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant for an overnight ICU/ER role. You will monitor ICU patients, perform anesthesia induction and monitoring, and assist with emergency stabilization across specialties.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of veterinary hospital experience.
• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, CVT).
• Advanced skills in anesthesia, emergency procedures and monitoring.
• Ability to work overnight shifts independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight monitoring and management of ICU and critical care patients.
• Perform anesthesia induction and monitoring, IV catheter placement, blood collection and transfusions, radiographs.
• Assist with emergency stabilization, triage and urgent interventions.
• Support diagnostics such as ultrasound, endoscopy and advanced lab testing.
• Deliver post-procedure monitoring and maintain patient records.
• Communicate treatment plans with owners and collaborate with ER/ICU teams.
