Job summary

Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Chattanooga is seeking a Veterinary Triage Assistant for the overnight weekday shift. This full-time role supports our 24-hour emergency team, triaging patients, recording histories, and assisting clinicians in a fast-paced hospital.

You will work Monday-Thursday 9:00 PM–7:00 AM, with competitive hourly pay $17.00–$18.75, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities to learn emergency and critical care skills alongside experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming emergency veterinary patients and identify those needing immediate attention
• Obtain and document patient histories and vital signs
• Safely restrain patients for examinations, diagnostics, and procedures
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with diagnostics, treatments, and patient care
• Prepare and dispense medications as directed
• Monitor and support patients throughout their visit
• Communicate with pet owners and provide compassionate customer service
• Demonstrate empathy and emotional intelligence when supporting clients
• Maintain clean, organized, stocked treatment areas
• Clean and sanitize equipment and hospital areas
• Work collaboratively with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service team members
• Help maintain an efficient workflow in a 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital
