Job summary

Endeavor Health in Glenbrook, IL is seeking a Unit Secretary for the Medical ICU to support patient flow and non-clinical operations. This full-time role (36 hours/week) runs 7am-7:30pm with rotating weekends, offering visibility and interaction across patients, families, nurses, physicians, and staff.

You will enter charge information accurately, coordinate supplies, and facilitate unit activities to keep care moving smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and at least 2 years work experience required.
• One year of college with one year of work experience preferred.
• Strong non-clinical coordination and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate non-clinical duties by facilitating the multiple unit activities that affect patient flow and organization.
• Responsible for accurate entry of charge information, timely notification of patient movement information to admitting and transport.
• Orders and maintains supplies.
• This position is highly visible with significant interaction between patients, families, nurses, physicians, other departments, support personnel and visitors.
• Proactively identifies the need for service recovery and notifies Concierge Services and Unit Manager to initiate tracking and resolution.
