Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Lead RN/Charge Nurse for the ICU at Kings Mills Hospital. The role coordinates patient care with the Clinical Manager, guiding staff to deliver safe, high-quality care while ensuring efficient use of resources and strong patient satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has a BSN (preferred), an active RN license, and 2 years of nursing experience with a year in an acuity-level unit. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred).
• Current RN license (state-bound or compact).
• CPR/BLS required; other certifications may be unit-specific (PALS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, etc. are preferred).
• 2 years nursing experience with 1 year in acuity-level care (preferred).
• Demonstrated leadership, staff mentoring, and performance improvement involvement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care on the unit with the Clinical Manager.
• Lead and supervise staff to promote safe, high-quality care and efficient resource use.
• Mentor and precept staff; serve as clinical resource and role model.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Participate in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities.
• Ensure patient placement, admissions, transfers, and discharges are safe and timely.
