Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for full-time night shifts. The ICU unit emphasizes evidence-based practice, autonomy with support, and interdisciplinary collaboration to deliver high-quality care.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license in the state, with an Associate's Degree required and Bachelor's preferred. ACLS, PALS, and BCLS certifications strengthen candidature.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS, PALS and Handle with Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support needs.
• Assesses learning needs of patient/family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
