Job summary

Baptist Health Walker Hospital is seeking an ICU RN for a full-time, day-shift role with three 12-hour shifts. The ICU RN provides advanced nursing care for critically ill patients, using clinical judgment and monitoring equipment to anticipate changes and respond quickly.

Collaboration with physicians and teams is essential to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care. The position requires Alabama RN licensure (or eNLC), current BLS certification, and a minimum of 1 year in an acute care

Qualifications

• RN license active in Alabama or eNLC in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in an acute care facility; 2+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced nursing care for critically ill patients requiring complex assessments and high-intensity interventions.
• Uses clinical judgment to anticipate and respond quickly to changing patient conditions.
• Operates and interprets data from monitoring systems and specialized medical equipment.
• Responds to emergencies using established nursing protocols and life-saving interventions.
• Develops and revises individualized care plans and evaluates patient outcomes.
• Advocates for patients and families with age-appropriate care across the lifespan.
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, may serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or educator.
• Documents care accurately and ensures compliance with standards and regulations.
