Job summary

UAB Medicine's Intensive Care – ICU is hiring a registered nurse to implement and monitor patient care plans, to coordinate care across disciplines, and to note and carry out orders from physicians and nursing staff.

This night-shift role (full-time, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.; PRN nights) requires BLS within 30 days, ALS within 180 days, and Alabama RN licensure at hire; work location is UAB St. Vincent's‑Chilton, with a broad benefits program for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 30 days of hire date.
• ALS/ACLS required within 180 days of hire date.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing required before hire date.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
