Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center is seeking a dedicated RN for its Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) for the full-time night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). The CVICU specializes in post-operative cardiac and vascular care, requiring clinical excellence and teamwork to support critically ill patients and families.

The role requires an Associate’s degree or higher in Nursing, an Alabama RN license (or eligibility), and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in Nursing.
• Current Alabama RN license (or eligible for licensure).
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
