Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking an RN to manage patients with medical or surgical needs, delivering safe, patient-centered care and leading the nursing team. The RN will collaborate with hospital staff, coordinate with ancillary departments, and may work weekends, evenings, and on-call shifts as needed.

The role requires a Texas RN license (BSN preferred), current BLS, and unit-specific certifications (ACLS/PALS/ENPC/TNCC) with ongoing compliance.

Qualifications

• Texas RN license or compact state license; temporary TX license allowed while waiting for permanent license.
• BSN preferred; ADN/ diploma acceptable with ongoing licensure.
• Maintain BLS certification and unit-specific ARC/AHA certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Oversee and guide nursing staff under their supervision.
• Interact with hospital staff and ancillary departments to resolve patient care concerns; work weekends/holidays/evenings/on-call as needed.
