Job summary

The Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care. The role focuses on activities of daily living, safety, and clear communication within the care team.

Under RN/LPN supervision, you will assist with meals, hygiene, mobility, vital signs, and data collection while maintaining infection control and patient confidentiality. CNA/CPCT preferred; BCLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a nursing program.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire required or preferred as stated.
• CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant preferred or CPCT - Certified Patient Care Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering care and maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.
• Collect and record vital signs and other patient data; report findings to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, bathing, oral care, grooming, linen changes, and mobility assistance.
• Maintain infection control practices and proper PPE usage; ensure patient confidentiality.
• Communicate patient information effectively to the care team and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
