Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care in an acute setting.

The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, data collection, and maintaining a safe care environment. The PCT will perform delegated tasks under RN/LPN supervision, including vital signs, mobility assistance, and basic specimen collection, while adhering to infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred
• Basic knowledge of patient care practices and equipment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work collaboratively with a team
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety protocols

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering basic patient care in a clean, safe environment
• Record vital signs and data and report findings to RN/LPN/LVN
• Assist patients with meals, bathing, grooming, linen changes, and mobility aids
• Position and ambulate patients using walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs
• Collect urine/stool samples and perform finger-stick blood glucose monitoring
• Communicate patient information clearly to the care team and adhere to PPE protocols
• Participate in performance improvement and risk management activities
