Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff by providing essential activities of daily living and basic patient care.

The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and effective communication within the healthcare team. The PCT will assist with vital signs, feeding, hygiene, mobility, and specimen collection under supervision of RN/LPN/LVN, while adhering to infection control practices and PPE guidelines.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire required.
• CNA or CPCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with basic patient care and maintain a safe, organized environment.
• Record vital signs and other patient data and report to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Assist with meals, bathing, grooming, and mobility.
• Document urine/stool samples and glucose monitoring results.
• Communicate effectively with the care team and maintain patient confidentiality.
