Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a PA for an Intensivist Medicine role in Texas. The PA provides direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU setting, including rounding, procedures, and hospital admissions/discharges under physician supervision.

Ideal candidates have 1 year+ Critical Care/Acute Care experience; new graduates are welcome. Responsibilities include evaluating new and established patients, hospital/ED consults, and perioperative care in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Licensed as a Physician Assistant in Texas and NCCPA certified.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Assesss patients with comprehensive exams and histories.
• Order and interpret labs and diagnostics.
• Prescribe medications and therapies and perform procedures per protocol.
• Collaborate with physicians and team to plan treatment.
• Counsel patients and families on medical processes and health promotion.
• Maintain patient records and coordinate admissions/discharges.
• Provide on-call support and possible hospital rounds.
