Job summary

The Baylor Scott & White Health PA Intensivist Medicine team in Texas is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant to provide direct patient care in the inpatient ICU. You will round, evaluate new and established ICU patients, manage admissions and discharges, and collaborate with a growing critical care team.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of critical care or acute care experience; new graduates are welcome.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA program.
• Current Texas PA license.
• NCCPA certification.
• ACLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• 1 year or more of Critical Care/Acute Care experience preferred; new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients through comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and histories.
• Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate labs and other diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe or recommend medical therapies following supervising physician's scope.
• Develop and implement patient treatment plans with the care team.
• Counsel patients and families on treatment choices, medications, and health promotion.
• Maintain thorough medical records of treatment plans and outcomes.
• Perform invasive procedures within scope (central/arterial lines, intubations).
• May conduct rounds, assist with admissions/discharges, and provide on-call support.
