Job summary

Orlando Health South Lake Hospital in Clermont, FL is seeking a Nursing Assistant II for the Intensive Care Unit on the night shift. The role provides patient care under the supervision of the Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in a busy acute care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of nursing assistant work experience in the past five years is acceptable if trainings listed are met.

Responsibilities

• Assists patient with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination and nutritional needs.
• Provides routine treatments and maintains a safe, clean, neat, and organized patient environment.
• Maintains safety and security of patients, families, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Assures patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality.
• Follows standard precautions, always washes hands between patients.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Takes and records vital signs and intake/output as directed.
• Documents pertinent patient information according to Orlando Health policies.
• Communicates safety concerns to the RN and other team members.
• Performs hourly rounding and handoff report.
• Maintains a clean and organized nursing unit.
• Receives and processes calls and guest requests.
• Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications facility-wide.
