Job summary

Orlando Health South Lake Hospital in Clermont, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shifts (7:00pm-7:00am) in the Intensive Care Unit. The role requires graduate of an approved nursing school, Florida RN licensure or NLC, BLS, and ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC as applicable. Minimum 1 year ICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates critical knowledge, skills, and judgement to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies, high intensity interventions, and high-level continuous nursing vigilance.
• Utilizes information and assessment data to anticipate and respond with confidence and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Identifies and prioritizes information to take immediate and decisive evidence-based, patient focused action.
• Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets & records electronic displays (ICP, CVP, PAP, rhythms from monitors, ventilators, etc.).
• Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
• Observes, monitors, and assesses patient condition, calling Physician or taking preplanned emergency measures when needed.
• Assesses patient needs and develops an individualized plan of care; evaluates progress toward outcomes.
• Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to plan and manage the unit/department.
