Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Westerville, OH is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Medical ICU. The unit offers 12 beds with occasional overflow to SICU and aims for a 2:1 patient‑nurse ratio, with 1:1 or 3:1 when needed.

As an RN, you will provide care in line with the Nursing Process, collaborate with ICU providers, and support patients’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs while adhering to organization policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate from school of nursing.
• Current Ohio RN license.
• For Casual RNs 2 years of experience required.
• All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience are subject to participate and will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and ensure patient safety, promoting evidence-based practice and quality initiatives within the Magnet model.
• Assess and evaluate patient care, collaborate with patient/family to develop a plan including physical, spiritual and educational components.
• Communicate pertinent information to team members in a timely manner; keep patient/family updated.
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes according to standards and policies.
• Assume responsibility for care documented by others as appropriate.

Education

Graduate from school of nursing

Current Ohio RN license

2 years of experience for Casual RNs
