Job summary

The ThedaCare ICU in Appleton, Wisconsin seeks a dedicated ICU RN to provide direct nursing care in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on managing critically ill patients in the ICU, including ventilatory support, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response to emergencies.

Schedule: Straight nights 5:30p-6a, every 3rd weekend, and holiday rotation. Unit details include a 22-bed ICU caring for medical/surgical/cardiac cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) OR Associate’s Degree in Nursing with an agreement to obtain the BSN within five years
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), AND American Heart association Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
• State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse licensure

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to critically ill patients in the ICU Appleton unit, including those requiring ventilatory support and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and manage complex treatment protocols.
• Perform assessments of patients’ vital signs, condition, and symptoms, reporting changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other team members to develop individualized patient care plans.
• Document patient care activities in electronic health records and provide patient and family education.
• Respond to codes and critical situations with life-saving interventions as needed.
