Job summary

HCA Florida Highlands Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinate unit functions during the shift. In collaboration with the management team, the CNC directs and evaluates nursing care and serves as a resource for staff, upholding the hospital’s mission and values to support an exceptional patient experience.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other management team members.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Supports efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing nursing strategies (employee rounding, hourly rounds, etc.).
• Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff; and action plans for training, development, conflict resolution, policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Supports inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
