Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to support the CVICU and ICU units. The role requires strong critical care background, credentialing after start, and collaboration with attending physicians.

The position offers a 12-hour shift pattern, weekend coverage, and generous PTO. Texas NP licensure and trauma certification requirements apply; prior trauma/ICU experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing.
• Certification by ANCC, NCC, ANP or AACN in area of specialty.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certification.
• ATLS certification if trauma area is required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient needs as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Performs procedures such as arterial line placement, central line placement, thoracentesis, intubations and chest tube management; participates in rounds.
• Collaborates to develop and evaluate patient care guidelines and pathways; applies research to practice.
• Educates patients and families about care and resources; participates in process improvement.
