Job summary

Rendr is seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to improve coding accuracy across primary care and specialty services in New York. The role involves assigning ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, querying documentation when needed, and ensuring HIPAA compliance.

The ideal candidate has two+ years of coding experience, active CPC/CCS-P certification, and strong MS Office skills, with a focus on quality and risk adjustment reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Active CPC or CCS-P certification through AHIMA or AAPC.
• At least two years of coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding rules.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for all patient types, billing and reimbursement.
• Query physicians when documentation is unclear for coding.
• Comply with HIPAA laws and regulations.
• Stay current on ICD-10-CM guidelines and risk adjustment.
• Assist leadership in creating coding policies and SOPs.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Collaborate with manager on quality improvement strategies.
