What are we looking for?

The ICC Special Inspector is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project-specific observations and inspection duties under general supervision.

Salary & Benefits

The base wage or salary range for this position is $25 - $40 per hour. Compensation packages are based on skill set, experience, qualifications, and other factors.

What you’ll do:

• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (soil, concrete, etc.) and report data.
• Use specific methods to observe site activities.
• Read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment.
• Make detailed observations and interpret results.
• Maintain detailed documentation of test results.
• Communicate effectively with clients and project teams.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of inspection experience.
• ICC certifications – concrete, masonry, and structural welding.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Basic math, calculator, and computer skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to read plans and specifications.
• Work off shifts and overtime as needed.
• Lift, move, push, and pull 30-50 pounds frequently; over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Good hearing and ability to receive detailed oral communication.
• Ability to kneel, squat, walk, and stand for long periods.
• Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
• Occasional climbing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• City of LA and LA County inspector registration.
• Additional certifications like CWI, fireproofing, or ICC Commercial Building.
