The services to be provided include construction inspection related to public works projects such as roads, bridges, flood control, sewer, water, traffic signals, and airport improvements, or in support of permitted activities within the Road and Flood Control District rights of way throughout Los Angeles County.

Electrical inspectors should be certified electricians. Responsibilities include inspecting the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and digital systems, including traffic signals, highway lighting, booster pump stations, sewage treatment plants, storm drain pump stations, CDS units, low flow diversion systems, water disinfection plants, water well pumps, electrical panels, and related systems.
Inspectors must monitor electrical work in facilities such as pump stations, sewage treatment plants, and water booster stations, including electrical panels related to dam water valve operations. Typical inspections involve installation of traffic signal and lighting conduits, pull boxes, wiring, concrete foundations, standards, signal heads, controller cabinets, detector loops, and major electrical services and gear for industrial or commercial use, including those for pump stations, spreading grounds, and dams.
Inspectors should be able to read and interpret complex project plans and specifications, ensure compliance with code requirements and safe work practices, prepare reports, and maintain accurate inspection records.
