Currently, we have a full-time opening for an ICC-Certified Building Inspector in the Palmdale, CA area. Qualified candidates will be responsible for inspecting commercial, residential, and industrial properties during and after construction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections before, during, and after construction to ensure compliance with safety, structural, and building code regulations.
• Issue violation notices, stop-work orders, and permits for construction.
• Document inspection results.
• Communicate findings effectively to homeowners and contractors.
• Coordinate with and assist other field inspectors; take on additional inspections as needed.
• Explain and clarify code-related issues with contractor personnel.
• Uphold standards consistently and communicate effectively.
• Conduct building damage assessments.
• Engage in continued education and training.
• Provide training and mentorship to inspectors; assist in staff selection and training.
• Follow up on calls and compliance issues.
• Handle customer service inquiries related to code clarifications.
• Serve as a resource for inspectors in the field.
• Interpret and apply standards for Building, Electrical, Elevator, Mechanical, and Plumbing codes.
• Conduct ride-alongs to supervise and provide feedback to field inspectors.
• Stay informed about new developments in inspection standards and incorporate them as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• ICC Certifications in Commercial and/or Residential Building Inspection.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Valid CA Driver's License.
• Municipal inspection experience.
