Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Master’s student to contribute to hardware development for chip-level and subsystem-level validation in a fast-paced environment in California.

You will learn the specifications of Marvell optoelectronics products, design hardware platforms, and automate measurements with Python while collaborating with a validation team on test development and reporting results. This internship provides hands-on lab work with VNA, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and in-circuit emulators.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree in CE, EE, or a related field.
  • Expected graduation date Fall 2027 – Summer 2028.
  • Strong fundamentals in RF/Microwave Engineering, transistor-level analog design, common building blocks, and related areas.
  • Programming experience with Python, C, etc.
  • Exposure to Matlab and ADS is desirable.
  • Enjoys hands-on lab work using VNA, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and in-circuit emulator.
  • Applicants must be eligible to access export-controlled information under U.S. law; some applicants may be subject to an export license review process

Responsibilities

  • Develop hardware for chip-level and subsystem-level evaluation and validation.
  • Execute validation plans for optoelectronic components, including TIAs and modulator drivers.
  • Learn the specifications and functionalities of Marvell optoelectronics products.
  • Design hardware platforms for chip and system validation with guidance from senior members.
  • Code and script in Python to automate measurements.
  • Verify and troubleshoot board-level and chip-level designs.
  • Collaborate with validation team members on test development, database structure, test hardware, and assigned validation projects.
  • Document design and validation results and generate reports.
  • Perform system modeling, block design, simulation, and laboratory measurements as assigned.
  • Test low-noise, high-gain amplifiers up to mmWave frequencies

Job description

  • Programming experience with Python, C, etc.
  • Exposure to Matlab and ADS is desirable
  • Enjoys hands-on lab work using VNA, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and in-circuit emulator
