Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a student intern to assist with hardware validation and system bring-up for platforms with high-speed interfaces. You will run test cases, gather data, and document results under guidance from senior engineers.

You will write Python scripts to streamline silicon testing and operate lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, to analyze signal integrity. Collaboration with design, firmware, and validation teams is essential to reproduce issues and perform

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in EE, CE, CS, or related field.
  • Expected graduation Fall 2027 – Summer 2028.
  • Basic understanding of digital logic, computer architecture or hardware design.
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting language (Python, C, or similar).
  • Ability to work in a hands-on lab environment.
  • Willingness to learn lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Strong communication and collaborative mindset.
  • Export-controlled information access eligibility.

Job description

  • Assist in functional hardware validation and debug activities for platforms using PCIe, CXL, Ethernet, and other high-speed interfaces
  • Support system bring-up by running test cases, collecting data, and documenting results under senior engineer guidance
  • Write and execute Python or similar automation scripts to streamline silicon testing and validation workflows
  • Operate logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other standard lab equipment for signal integrity analysis and system debugging
  • Collaborate with design, firmware, and validation teams to investigate and reproduce hardware or protocol-level issues
  • Contribute to root-cause analysis of hardware and protocol issues
  • Gain hands‑on exposure to silicon validation across high-speed interfaces and complex platform environments
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Expected graduation date of Fall 2027 – Summer 2028
  • Basic understanding of digital logic, computer architecture, or hardware design principles
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting or programming language (Python, C, or similar)
  • Ability to work in a hands‑on lab environment
  • Willingness to learn standard lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
  • Ability to document findings clearly and work effectively within a team
  • Coursework or project experience related to high-speed interfaces is preferred
  • Exposure to hardware bring-up, FPGA/ASIC design, or embedded systems is preferred
  • Experience with version control tools such as Git and basic familiarity with Linux/Unix environments are preferred
  • Applicants must be eligible to access export-controlled information under applicable U.S. law
