Job summary

Pine Street School is seeking a Temporary Spanish/Physical Education Teacher to cover a parental leave for Grades 4-8, aligned with IBPYP and IBMYP. The role combines Physical Education and Middle School Spanish, starting in early December 2026 through the end of the 2026–2027 school year.

The candidate will join an international team, maintain continuity, and build strong student relationships while implementing IB-informed instruction and wellness-focused programming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Education, Spanish, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience teaching Physical Education and/or Spanish.
• Full professional fluency in Spanish and fluency in English.
• Experience with IB Programme and inquiry-based learning is preferred.
• Ability to start in early December 2026 and commit through June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Physical Education instruction for Grades 4-8 emphasizing inquiry, skill development, and wellness.
• Plan and deliver Spanish instruction for Grades 6-8 using Spanish as the language of instruction.
• Continue existing unit plans and adapt lessons for continuity during the leave period.
• Design assessments reflecting IB best practices to support student growth.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs, language levels, and learning styles.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment promoting collaboration and resilience.
• Coordinate with colleagues to ensure smooth transitions and school events.
• Participate in faculty meetings and professional development, particularly in IB pedagogy.
