Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to provide technical support for personal computers, network infrastructure, and mainframe client servers, and to assist with testing, updating, maintaining software and hardware.

This role may lead and train less experienced IT Specialists, handle integrations, and respond to helpdesk requests, with opportunities to contribute to system design and database support within government IT operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree required.
• Two years of related IT experience required (e.g., system/network engineering, information security, programming, databases).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous IT lead experience preferred.
• Previous IT experience in government preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers for PCs and network infrastructure, including testing, updating, maintaining, and training on mainframe client servers and software/hardware.
• Lead and train less experienced IT Specialists as needed and assist with integrations.
• Respond to helpdesk requests and support database and interface maintenance.
