Job summary

The University of Southern California (USC) is seeking a detail-oriented IACUC Coordinator to join the Office of Research & Innovation. This role supports the animal care program, ensuring compliance and process improvement, while independently managing training, inspections, and DMR administration.

Reporting to the Associate Director, the role partners with IACUC leadership to strengthen committee processes and regulatory adherence, using iStar for documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience in research administration, compliance, or regulatory oversight preferred.
• Familiarity with federal animal research regulations (e.g., PHS Policy, Animal Welfare Act) preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate IACUC training programs for PIs, personnel, and committee members.
• Track and document completion of required training and maintain records.
• Coordinate semi-annual and focused IACUC inspections and communicate findings.
• Provide administrative support for the DMR process and track timelines.
• Maintain protocol records and data accuracy in iStar.
• Generate metrics and reports on inspections, training, and DMR activity.
• Support audit preparation and regulatory reporting as needed.
