Job summary

Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. is seeking a Specialist - I&E to oversee installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Process Control Systems for reciprocating, electric and turbine natural gas compressor units.

The role involves daily collaboration with field personnel, providing technical expertise, analyzing complex problems, and ensuring safe, reliable operation of pipeline facilities through adherence to procedures and standards.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in an engineering related field or a Bachelor’s Degree plus six years of experience in the gas transmission field.
• Two years of experience in lieu of a formal degree.
• Past programming of PLCs, Lookout, Wonderware or other HMI.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of Company procedures and Industry-related standards, codes and practices, and applicable Federal and State regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement control system logic and hardware to meet integrated system requirements in DeltaV - OPTO - AllenBradley.
• Lead on assigned projects or engineering assignments.
• Provide day to day DCS and PLC automation support.
• Create and maintain daily and custom automated production reports.
• Work to ensure a safe working environment by actively participating in safety programs.
• Develop or modify control logic to meet changes in equipment or operating conditions.
• Develop, maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures for Asset Management Team members.
• Advise Management on safety-related matters to promote an accident-free environment.
• Participate in facility audit process as the company’s expert on adherence to local, state and federal construction techniques.
• Research and identify training resources needed for instrumentation and controls training requirements; conduct some training when needed.
