Job summary

VersaTech Automation Services, LLC is seeking a seasoned Project Manager / Estimator for Instrumentation & Electrical services in the energy sector. Based in New Orleans, LA, with optional consideration for Houston or Midland candidates, you will lead multi-million dollar I&E projects and prepare competitive proposals.

You will oversee budgets, schedules, staffing, and safety programs while coordinating with customers, inspectors, and field teams to ensure on-time turnover and profitability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience managing Instrumentation & Electrical construction projects in Oil & Gas or Industrial markets
• Strong knowledge of I&E construction methods, commissioning, maintenance, and project execution
• Experience preparing estimates and technical proposals
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, instrumentation diagrams, specifications, and construction documents
• Strong financial understanding including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and change order management
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to build strong relationships with customers, field personnel, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Willingness to travel approximately 30%, primarily throughout Louisiana and Texas

Responsibilities

• Manage I&E construction projects ranging from $10,000 to over $10 million
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and field personnel
• Prepare competitive estimates and technical proposals using drawings, specifications, labor estimates, and industry best practices
• Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasting, invoicing, and profitability
• Administer change orders and contract modifications
• Coordinate staffing requirements with Operations and Field Services leadership
• Ensure project documentation, testing reports, turnover packages, and quality records are completed accurately and on time
• Conduct periodic job site visits to monitor safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction
• Participate in customer meetings and support business development activities to grow existing and new accounts
• Champion VersaTech's strong safety culture through field audits, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives
