Job summary

Austin External is seeking an I/E QC Inspector to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair instrumentation and control systems at our site. You will read blueprints, schematics and testing specs, work with PLCs, and apply calibration techniques to ensure compliance with process requirements.

The role requires familiarity with safety and QA/QC practices, ability to perform loop checks, document results, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Must test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair instruments to ensure performance.
• Ability to read manuals, blueprints, schematics and testing specs.
• Knowledge of electrical schematics and PLCs.
• Experience with calibration procedures and test equipment.
• Familiar with safety standards and QA/QC practices.

Responsibilities

• Apply mathematics to instrumentation, including unit conversions and precision calculations.
• Read blueprints and loop drawings and prepare job reports.
• Assemble/disassemble electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components.
• Calibrate equipment using standard procedures and interpret calibration data.
• Understand pH, redox and related measurement equipment.
• Apply Ohm's Law and Kirchhoff’s Law to electrical systems.
• Inspect and verify instrument installation, testing and controls.
• Update as-built drawings and manage inspection documentation.
