Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Supervisor to oversee technicians in instrumentation setup, connections, and testing. You will coordinate with electrical contractors, ensure safety, and supervise daily workflow in a dynamic industrial environment.

The role requires a strong background in automation, PLCs, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs, along with supervisory experience and a proven safety record. Expect hands-on leadership and collaboration with project teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-year technical associate degree or equivalent experience and/or certification
• 5 years minimum of experience as a technician with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
• Experience with Automation and Controls, VFD Drives, Soft Starters
• Experience with PLCs and wiring schematics/diagrams
• Experience with interpreting P&ID’s and loop checks
• Demonstrated supervisor abilities and safety record
• Ability to manage small projects and day-to-day planning

Responsibilities

• Coordinate instrumentation set-up, testing, and terminations with electrical contractors.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and connections.
• Plan wiring and installation of instrumentation and controls; interpret specs, blueprints, and job orders.
• Inspect work for conformance to standards and electrical codes.
• Review schedules and estimate labor hours for completion of jobs.
• Train technicians on procedures, safety, productivity, and technical skills.
• Coordinate with project coordinator to requisition and purchase needed materials.
• Collaborate with managers to coordinate additional labor to stay on schedule.
• Perform activities of workers supervised.
