Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. in Colorado seeks an Instrumentation and Controls Supervisor to lead a team of technicians in set-up, commissioning, and testing of instrumentation and control systems.

This role requires coordinating with electrical contractors, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence across projects. Strong supervisory and hands-on technical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and related technical training.
• Minimum 5 years in technician role with at least 1 year in supervision.
• Experience with instrumentation set-up, wiring, testing, and termination.
• Familiar with automation and controls, VFD drives, and soft starters.
• Experience interpreting wiring diagrams and P&ID diagrams.
• Experience with PLCs and MS Office software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate instrumentation set-up, testing, and terminations with electrical contractors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical problems and connections to ensure project progress.
• Plan wiring and installation of instrumentation and controls; interpret technical drawings and orders.
• Inspect work to ensure conformance to standards and electrical codes.
• Train technicians on procedures, safety, and technical skills.
• Support hiring decisions and performance reviews.
