Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an experienced startup/commissioning specialist for the Thacker Pass project in Nevada. You will provide knowledge, training, and consultative support for commissioning activities, participate in planning, turnover coordination, material management, and quality control.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and collaboration across disciplines on a landmark energy/industrial project. You will lead execution planning, package development, and field coordination, ensuring

Qualifications

Requires Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Startup/Commissioning experience on large industrial projects is required.
PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS expertise; electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting; ability to read electrical/control/process drawings.

Responsibilities

Lead startup specialist duties: installation configuration validation and work package development.
Plan and schedule CSU execution activities; prepare startup and test work packages.
Participate in turnover walks and interface with Field Engineer to support component/system turnover.
Initiate field purchases and prepare quantity takeoffs; track field purchases via procurement systems.
Perform walkdowns to validate system configuration; ensure conformance to specs and test procedures.
Identify and elevate ES&H issues and promote safe practices in the field.
