Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the United States is seeking a hands-on supervisor for instrumentation and control systems within the Ground Systems Development team. You will lead technicians, plan work, and ensure execution to safety and quality standards across launch facilities and test operations.

The role emphasizes mentoring, on-the-job training, and collaboration with engineering and planning teams, with occasional travel to other Blue Origin sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in mission/flight operations, launch/test operations, aerospace/industrial systems, or related.
• 1+ year frontline leadership directing technicians or operators.
• Experience with hazardous systems (cryogenic, pneumatic, hydraulic, high pressure, propellants).
• Ability to read and follow technical documentation.
• Basic proficiency with digital tools (email, spreadsheets, maintenance/operations systems).
• Willing to work nonstandard hours, outdoors, and travel occasionally to other Blue Origin sites.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead technicians in instrumentation and control system build, installation, test, and troubleshoot with focus on safety, quality, and schedule.
• Plan, assign, and monitor work and coverage.
• Ensure work per procedures, drawings, and safety/quality requirements.
• Provide hands-on support for integration, checkout, test, and operations.
• Coach, develop, and mentor team members; support hiring and onboarding.
• Communicate status, issues, and risks to leadership and partner teams.
• Drive safety culture; identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Identify continuous improvements to safety, quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
• Maintain clean, organized, compliant work areas (5S, tool/FOD control).
