Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) System Design Engineer to join our Resilience Water team in Ohio or Detroit. You will design and document I&C/SCADA systems for water/wastewater facilities, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver start-up ready solutions.

You will lead project management tasks including budgeting, planning, and cost estimating while mentoring junior engineers. Expect field startup support and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or a closely related field of study.
• 5+ years of I&C, Automation, and SCADA system design and implementation experience in water/wastewater market.
• EIT/Professional Engineer license.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; willing to travel 25%.

Responsibilities

• Produce design & construction documents for projects coordinating with process, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
• Develop SCADA network diagrams, P&IDs, control narratives, and panel layout diagrams.
• Program PLCs and configure HMI for SCADA on various platforms; manage data archiving and reporting.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
