Job summary

Holland America-Princess (Holland America Dawson City Inn) seeks an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Project Manager to lead automation projects from planning through commissioning. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, safety, and client communications while coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, and field teams.

The role requires hands-on I&C knowledge, PLC/HMI/SCADA expertise, and strong leadership to ensure project success across all stages and sites in Alaska.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in electrical/controls engineering or related technical field (or equivalent industry experience).
• Minimum five years of experience managing instrumentation, controls, electrical, automation, or industrial projects.
• Proficiency with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, industrial networks, instrumentation, motor controls, and control panels.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, resources, vendors, subcontractors, and change orders.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and control narratives.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple I&C and automation projects from kickoff through final acceptance.
• Define project scope, milestones, resources, and execution plans.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and progress reports.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate control-system design, PLC/HMI programming, instrumentation selection, panel fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Review documents and change orders; manage risks, issues, and scope changes.
• Monitor costs to maintain profitability.
• Lead project meetings and communicate status and decisions.
• Coordinate procurement and track long-lead equipment and vendor deliverables.
• Support factory acceptance testing, site integration, startup, and client training.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, contractual requirements, and company procedures.
• Promote safety and ensure proper planning and execution of field activities.
• Maintain complete project records and turnover packages; oversee closeout.
