Job summary

SSOE, Inc. is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Designer within the Advanced Technology division in Hillsboro, OR.

You will develop control system deliverables for semiconductor and advanced manufacturing facilities and coordinate closely with process, mechanical, electrical, and construction teams to ensure fully integrated solutions. You will review vendor data, support design reviews, and assist with field issues impacting safety, reliability, and schedule, while mentoring junior staff

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering design technology or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience designing instrumentation and control systems for complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of sensors, transmitters, actuators, valves, PLCs, DCS, SCADA.

Responsibilities

• Develop instrumentation and controls deliverables for cleanroom, fab, and advanced facilities.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, and construction teams for integrated designs.
• Prepare and review P&IDs, sequence of operations, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and installation details.
• Perform design calculations for instrument sizing, valve selection, alarms, and system performance.
• Review vendor submittals and equipment data sheets to ensure conformance with specs.
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and change coordination sessions.
• Support QA/QC reviews and field coordination during construction and commissioning.
