Job summary

SSOE Group seeks an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Designer to deliver I&C design packages for semiconductor facility design-build projects within the Electrical Design and Engineering group. The role interfaces process/mechanical utilities with control systems, requiring collaboration with multiple disciplines to ensure accurate, complete design docs from concept through construction.

The candidate should bring about a decade of I&C design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, and

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in engineering design technology, drafting or a related technical field.
• Approximately 10 years of instrumentation and controls design experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, microelectronics, or similar process environments.
• Ability to independently produce a complete I&C design package with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; working familiarity with Navisworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain instrument indices, datasheets, and specification packages for process utility systems.
• Produce loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, termination schedules, and interconnect drawings from field devices to PLC/DCS/BAS I/O.
• Design control panel general arrangements and internal layouts including terminal schedules and enclosure sizing.
• Generate I/O lists and point-to-point schedules aligned with controller card assignments and spare capacity.
• Coordinate with electrical designers on panel power sourcing, UPS-backed circuits, grounding, and shielding practices.
