Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineer to join the Nuclear Design Group in a full-time capacity in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on developing precise I&C designs, updating drawings, and ensuring safe, compliant operations for commercial nuclear facilities.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, review vendor submittals, and provide on-site support as needed, applying your PLC and DCS experience to improve reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or similar Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with design of I&C plant components and controls systems including PLCs and DCS.
• Experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects.
• Good writing, presentation and communication skills.
• US Citizenship required by federal contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop Engineering Deliverables: Produce precise drawings, calculations, and analyses that exceed industry codes and client expectations.
• Set the Standard: Develop engineering documents that meet and surpass client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay on the Cutting Edge: Continuously enhance expertise in industry codes, safety culture principles, and advanced design techniques.
• Drive Quality & Precision: Deliver engineering solutions with rigorous QA programs.
• Cultivate Strong Client Connections: Build trust through clear communication and professional engagement.
• Collaborate Across Disciplines: Partner with multidisciplinary teams to create integrated designs.
• Provide Field Support: Conduct on-site plant walkdowns and ensure all structures, systems, and components meet standards.
