Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Huntsville to support the Hypersonics CHGB Thermal Protection System program. You will create and revise TDP artifacts, manage drawings, BOMs, and specifications, and work within IPTs to drive producibility and timely resolutions.

The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree with 2+ years of related experience, CAD proficiency (Creo/CATIA/AutoCAD/SolidWorks), PLM familiarity, and the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited engineering degree with 2+ years of experience.
Experience with Creo, CATIA, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.
Familiar with PLM environments.
Basic understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
Engineering drawings, specifications, and configuration management.
Experience supporting issue resolution in a production environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Willingness to facilitate technical meetings with stakeholders.
MS Office proficiency.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain Technical Data Package (TDP) artifacts, including drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 standards.
Revise existing designs and develop new designs to enhance producibility and process efficiency.
Collaborate within integrated product teams (IPTs) to support drawing updates and production efforts.
Support production activities, including troubleshooting mechanical issues and assisting with corrective actions.
Assist in dispositioning non-conformances and supporting RCCA activities.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Independently manage tasks and projects with guidance from senior engineers.
